Air Jordan 2012 Unveiled Brief View

Move over Kobe System! Hello Jordan 2012 System!

I have not been this excited about a shoe in a while, let’s discuss why. First and foremost the Jordan Brand  has created a shoe that can cater to players of many needs from having to adapt to different occasions/situations,  to accomodating different positions and sizes.

Inner sleeves:
Low Cut: Designed for lighter weight, lockdown and freedom of motion for faster players.

High cut: Designed for the bigger player, or one that plays more aggressive closer to the basket. This sleeve creates lockdown for ultimate support.

Cushion systems:
Fly around – Equipped with full length air bag and foam material for bigger players who need extra cushion, for players like Carmelo Anthony, and others players at the 4 and 5 spots.

Fly over – Also foam based with a zoom bag in the front and air bag in rear for landing support. This insole will work for faster players that are slashing and cutting a lot, like a Dwayne wade.

Fly through – foam based with zoom bag in heel. This insole will work for more explosive players that are constantly on the move, like a Chris Paul
Traction:
Diamond pattern traction which I am very happy about. This traction compared to most will provide superior traction despite the court.

Carbon Fiber plate under shoe to separate the forefoot and rear foot for optimal durability and stability.

2nd generation fly wire for lightweight design and long lasting durability.

R.I.P Big Pun

One of the greatest of all time! (November 10, 1971 – February 7, 2000)

NIKE LeBron 9 [Performance Review]

“Lock me down so I can fly. Protect me from myself. Make me light. This is what LeBron James requested to Nike designers for his ninth signature shoe—and they didn't disappoint him. From lightweight cushioning to supportive Flywire, each feature of the LeBron 9 executes one or more of these needs. And because so much attention to detail was given to the performance attributes of the shoe, its style was born out of pure innovation.” - Nike

Cushioning 9/10
FIT 8/10
Nike Flyware and zoom technology gives this shoe the perfect combination of today’s leading shoe technology to provide one of the best fits I have experienced in a shoe recently. The shoe felt phenomenal once my foot adapted to the Flyware and zoom bags. It does run a bit small I would recommend going up a ½ size.
LeBron 9 is fully equipped with a Max Air 180 unit for cushioning and impact protection. I really felt the Max air and Zoom air combination after landings from layups and rebounds. Also felt less impact on my knees.
Traction 7/10
I was worried because of the pattern Nike decided to go with, I would have liked to see a full length herringbone pattern. The outriggers having a smooth rubber and I did experience some slipping.

Breath-ability 6/10
Airflow with this shoes wasn’t spectacular, but there was enough to keep me comfortable. With the Flyware design the shoe keeps you stable and responsive regardless.

Responsiveness 7/10
Once the shoe is broken in, and your foot adapts to the Zoom Air, Flyware and max air bags responsiveness is pretty good. The shoe does attempt to  get you as low to the ground as possible but with the zoom air bags but you definably feel a bounce to your step that you normally wouldn’t with a true low to the ground sneaker like the Hyperfuse or Hyperdunk.

Ankle support 8/10
This shoe was designed to cater to LaBrons playing style which is primarily compared to a freight train! I feel Nike did a great job. The shoe really hugs your feet and ankles making for more fearless attacks at the basket.
Durability 9/10
This shoe was built for war! Like LaBron, this shoe is a beast. Nike combines leather and synthetics to give you just enough of everything to add durability, style and most importantly performance. Enough said!
Overall 8/10
For the price of $160us the LaBron 9 in my opinion is well worth the money. You will not find too many sneakers in the market, or ever that have combined technologies to really create a performance shoe that really delivers on a players needs. This shoe can be worn by any player and position, indoor or out, and will outlast its competition with its materials for durability. Only thing I would like to see improved is the traction, but other than that you won’t find too many things wrong with this shoe!

APL Concept 1[Performance Review]

The patent-pending Load ‘N Launch™ technology is implanted in a cavity in the forefoot of the basketball shoe and is designed to provide an instant improvement in vertical leap.* The device works in conjunction with the high-performance materials of the outsole, midsole, insole and sock liner to create a performance experience unlike any other basketball shoe.” - athleticpropulsionlabs
I had to buy this shoe, especially after it was banned by the NBA, I dreamed of tomahawking like my boy D.Rose on some poor schmuck at the local rec center.

FIT 6/10

Has to be broken in, because of EVA Mid sole, shoe feels soft and a little narrow in the front causing slight discomfort to the toes, but once broken in feeling goes away. True to its size

Cushioning 8/10

Shoe gave me a tight snug feeling first couple of times wearing it, but once it molded to my foot it was pretty comfortable. I felt bouncier than normal, maybe because of the Loud and launch technology.

Traction 7/10

Surprisingly, this shoe held up pretty nicely. Does not utilize any type of traditional pattern like herringbone but the high grade Crystal rubber outsole held up pretty nicely.

Durability 8/10

This shoe is built like a tank. After about 20 full court games they still look new. They used a full synthetic leather upper, carbon fiber look made great for its durability.

Breath-ability 0/10

No air flow what so ever, but like my other reviews I don’t care much for that.

Responsiveness 5/10

This shoe is designed, I feel for bigger players, who will look to go up strong in the paint mostly and this shoes will do them do that job. If you’re a guard or slashing forward this shoe is not the best, I had trouble gathering myself in situations that normally are a breeze, like cutting around screens, drop steps, and crossing over.

Ankle support 2/10

No matter how tight I fastened the laces the shoe still felt loose around my ankles.

Vertical jump increase 5/10
So the master claim will this increase my vertical leap? I have a 32-inch vertical leap, this increased my vertical to 32.5. I felt the propulsion system helped with exploding because you felt a little bounce to your step, but it did not increase my vertical by very much.

Overall 5/10

For its claims of increasing my verticle it sure disappointed me, but I was actually surprised on the other aspects of the shoe, Like its durability and traction, however for a price of $150, I can think of many shoes that will give you much better performance.

ADIZERO ROSE 2.5 SHOES [Performance Review]

"D-Rose's game is only climbing higher, and these men's adizero Rose 2.5 Away basketball shoes by adidas are going with him. This is the fourth signature shoe made for the MVP. They have a lightweight synthetic leather upper, sprint frame support and EVA cushioning for the landing. The upper is embossed with an aerial map of Derrick’s home neighborhood and signature details include his jersey number on the toe & ROSE logo on the tongue."  - Addidas

FIT 7/10
Has to be broken in, because of EVA Midsole, shoe feels harder and stiffer, but once broken in cannot notice.
Shoe has to be tightened to get snug fit.
True size

Cushioning 8/10
High grade, injection-molded EVA ensures the most lightweight midsole because of the consistent density. Equipped with torsion system. Stiff feel until shoe is fully broken in, but once so shoe feels good.

Traction 6/10
High traction rubber outsole features a multi-level cross section that increases surface area and helps limit dust build up.
Traction has to be broken in. first couple of games, I had some trouble, especially since the court was poorly maintained, but once traction broke in i got much better response. on a clean court shoe was amazing in regards to traction.

Durability 6/10
Shoe began to wrinkle after approximately 10 full court games. This also is because of the increased breathability web design and light weight features, will cause shoe to wrinkle faster.

Breath-ability 10/10
Web design made for great breathability unlike any other shoe on themarket.

Responsiveness 8/10
A few times I actually lost my footing, in situations in which I normally wouldn’t when traditionally playing in my Jordan Fly wade 2's, but once shoe broke in, responded much better

Ankle support 8/10
I had to really tighten the shoe to get a good snug feel, but once I did shoe felt good around my ankles.

Overall 7.5/10
For quick guards and combo forwards this shoe is great for the baller looking for a well balanced shoe. At $110 us, you get a good bang for your buck, and Adidas i feel is going in the right direction l with Roses line.

Jordan Fly WADE 2 [Performance Review]

The Jordan Fly Wade 2 is made to the exact specifications of Jordan Team member Dwayne Wade. This shoe is the ideal choice for any competitive basketball player who wants an ultra-lightweight, durable and supportive shoe, with a modern look.

FIT 9/10
True size

Cushioning 8/10
With full length phylon felt great and was Very comfortable even after 6 full court games

Traction 8/10
Has elephant print pattern
Very durable rubber
Did not stick to floor but held up enough when fully sprinting, stops, layups and jabbing.
Did not skid, or make squeak noises, which makes me believe the rubber for traction will hold up very well over time.

Durability 7/10
Leather, synthetic and mesh upper

Breathability 0/10
Non-existent but did not matter

Responsiveness 7/10
A few time I actually lost my footing, but once shoe broke in responded much better

Ankle support 7/10
Without feeling like a boot when laced tightly my ankles felt pretty secure, though I wear an ankle brace on my right side the shoe was easy to wear. Some other shoes I have had issues putting on and over clunking the shoe. Overall support was good

Overall 7/10
This shoe is amazing, don't let the overall score fool you, its  low only because of the breath-ability (which I can care less for), and the shoe made up for the lack of from all of the other attributes it excelled in. I would recommend this shoe for any player and position.  great for fast and strong guards and is durable enough and agile enough for big men to go hard in the paint with.
